After a decade as sales manager for a Toronto advertising firm I felt it was time for a change. I had personally been investing in real estate for several years and had often considered getting licensed so that I could begin selling real estate as a profession. In May of 1989, I obtained my real estate license to practice in the Province of Ontario.
At the urging of a Manager at a Canada Trust Real Estate branch in Brampton, I joined his sales team. Over the next couple of years, he would become a friend and mentor in the business. As a graduate with a degree in English literature, he taught me the importance of language in the sales process, which is something I’ve never forgotten. In 1991, I took a leap of faith and joined RE/MAX Realty Services Inc. and remained with that firm until the fall of 2017. During the past 28 years I have had the pleasure of representing so many wonderful families in buying and selling one of their most important assets…the family home.
In early 2015, my wife and I purchased a property in Collingwood as a retreat from the hustle , bustle & congestion of the GTA. As we spent more time in Collingwood, enjoying the outdoors and recreation activities, we decided to sell our home in Brampton and move to Collingwood in the spring of 2017. As time went by, I felt the need to become part of a local brokerage in the Collingwood area. After reviewing my options, I chose to join the The Rioux Baker Real Estate Team, which is part of the boutique brokerage firm of Clairwood Real Estate Corporation. The Team offered me great support, and an in-depth knowledge of the local market. As Collingwood continues to grow, I look forward to providing a professional approach to individuals choosing to call the Southern Georgian Bay area, home.
